Job Description
Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic and be part of a progressive team dedicated to high-quality waste and recycling services. You will be responsible for the inspection and repair of diesel heavy trucks and equipment, contributing to our commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment
Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes
Assist with emergency breakdowns when on call
Complete other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
Ability to speak and read English
Ability to meet physical and safety requirements
Must provide own tools
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic
Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems
Familiarity with diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool, Allison transmission, Cummins, CAT, Peterbilt, and Paccar
Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
