Job Description Multi-service Warwick law firm seeking a litigation attorney with corporate law, business law, and litigation experience. This dynamic position requires the ability to take initiative, offer legal advice, prepare and draft the appropriate documentation, create effective legal strategies, and represent clients in trials, mediations, and arbitration hearings.
Responsibilities Conducting discovery, including issuing subpoenas, conducting interviews, and reviewing documents
Negotiating with opposing counsel to reach settlement agreements
Drafting pleadings and other legal documents, such as motions and discovery requests
Preparing witnesses for court appearances and depositions
Communicating with clients throughout the litigation process to keep them informed about the status of their cases and any new developments
Conducting research on legal issues associated with cases
Interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and interviewing experts to support the client’s case
Drafting legal briefs and motions to be submitted to the court
Presenting cases in court by arguing facts and citing laws to support the client’s position
Handling company formation, contract drafting, and business and real estate transactions.
Qualifications & Requirements Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the Rhode Island Bar
Experienced in corporate law and civil litigation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Confident negotiating skills
Reliable and interested in a long-term client relationship
Work Hours and Benefits Salary: $55,000 - $80,000/year, depending on experience.
8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice.
Experience or expertise in a specific branch of law may be preferred.
Commitment to abiding by local, state, and federal laws and behaving ethically.
Ability to work independently or with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies.
Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
Ability to negotiate, research, and communicate verbally and in writing effectively.
Adaptability and attention to detail.
3-5 years experience in the legal field.
