Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to support a dedicated team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll lead a passionate team, ensure top-notch patient care, and make a tangible impact on animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate veterinary care to patients in underserved areas
Participate in administrative functions like scheduling staff
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
Fear Free® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
