School Occupational Therapist at Care Options for Kids summary:

The School-Based Occupational Therapist evaluates and provides therapy services to school-aged children to enhance their fine motor and sensory integration skills. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement individualized interventions for students with physical and cognitive impairments. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines in a school setting.

School-Based Occupational Therapist

  • $48-$53 per hour

Position Summary:
The position of School-Based Occupational Therapist provides coordinated Occupational therapy to school-aged children. They plan, implement, and evaluate students to provide appropriate fine motor and/or sensory integration skills. They evaluate occupational roles and occupational performance of students with physical and/or cognitive impairments. They provide interventions based on student deficits and they collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Education/License/Certification:

  • Masters, or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Current Active State License to practice Occupational Therapy in Oregon.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Pediatric focus and/or School-Based experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
  • Knowledge of therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
  • Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsive to requests.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.
