Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a skilled team to provide exceptional veterinary care in underserved communities. This role combines leadership with hands-on veterinary work, ensuring both animals and their owners receive the support they need.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through supervision and developmental coaching
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule CM staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Participate in monthly CM Veterinary Medicine Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience
