Client Policy
- License Requirements: Client will not accept any travelers with previous license hits, regardless of the date of occurrence, nature of the issue, or current status of the license.
- Do not submit travelers with any known license hits.
Unit Details
- Unit Type: Med/Tele – Neuro Focus
- # of Beds: 30
- Primary Patient Population: Stroke and seizure patients
Patient Types / Common Diagnoses
- Post-ictal seizure patients
- New stroke patients requiring q2h neuro checks
- s/p TPA/TNK administration
- s/p craniectomies, burr holes
- Elective VEEG patients (seizure induction on unit)
- Cardiac monitoring and drips (amiodarone, diltiazem)
- s/p cardiac caths, pacemaker/ICD placement, ablations
- IVIG, plasmapheresis treatments
- Overflow Med/Surg patients as needed
Certifications & Competencies
- Required: BLS, NIHSS
- Education: 8 hours of neuro-specific education annually
- Skills: Strong EKG interpretation; must be proficient in identifying and managing cardiac arrhythmias
Schedule & Expectations
- Hours per week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Call: As needed
- Weekends: Required in rotation
- Holidays: Required in rotation
