Job Description
Join Uncommon Schools as a College Counselor, where you will guide students through the college application process and help them achieve their academic dreams. You'll collaborate with families, create a culture of readiness, and work closely with colleges to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
Teach 11th and 12th grade college seminar courses
Guide students through the college application process
Build a culture of college and career readiness
Collaborate with parents and families
Build relationships with college admissions offices
Support planning and execution of college visits and information sessions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of two years experience in an urban district or charter school setting
Experience working with high school students and families
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate well with others
Skilled in using data to drive improvements in the college counseling process
Strong digital literacy including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Naviance, and PowerSchool
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Experience within the college admissions field
Experience in an urban setting with BIPOC students
