This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule of 4 to 5 days each week. This position is located on site in Columbus, NE. Employees will be expected to rotate through weekday shifts, as well as cover weekends and holidays, contributing to the overall team dynamics. Additionally, responsibilities will involve a rotation of call duties. The selected candidate will be required to enter orders into the Paragon software system, maintain inventory levels, and prepare both non-sterile and sterile compounds, including chemotherapy preparations. The role also encompasses filling prescriptions for our Hospice program and carrying out various clinical tasks such as performing thorough chart reviews, conducting medication reconciliations, providing patient education, and overseeing pharmacokinetic and renal dosing checks. As part of this position, the pharmacist will manage technician staff as needed and will take on the role of preceptor for pharmacy students. Moreover, the pharmacist will be responsible for counseling patients on their medications during discharge. While prior experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. Candidates must possess a current NE Pharmacy license and have obtained a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
