Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Acute Care – Traveler (Days)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our acute care team. The SLP will be responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of therapy for patients with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing disorders, as prescribed by a physician. This role will also contribute to developing and implementing programs to enhance patient outcomes and department growth.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
Provide direct therapy to patients across acute care settings
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home programs
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and departmental programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy (required)
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred)
Current state license in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and must maintain
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
Previous hospital-based experience strongly preferred
