LHH is assisting with a search for a Payroll Specialist for a client in Kansas City, MO. We are looking for someone to work on-site with pay starting at $25/hour and going up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of payroll experience with some additional accounting experience. Read below for additional details!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review payroll weekly and biweekly.
• Enter new employees in Company database.
• Maintains database changes related to terminations, raises, changes in banking and address forms.
• Maintains master employee lists.
• Maintains employee benefits lists.
• Prepare 1094 forms.
• Prepare monthly union reports, submit to union for payment, and wage reporting by union deadlines.
• Prepares and print termination/layoff paychecks.
• Collaborate with human resources as needed.
• Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
• File and keep all employee records organized.
• Prepare workpapers, etc. for annual audit and respond to auditor’s requests for annual audit.
• PSL accrual.
• Purchase Orders.
• Credit card reconciliations.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• A least 3 years of payroll experience with some exposure to Union Payroll
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent self-management as well as project management skills
• Great attention to detail and superior organizational skills
