Key Responsibilities
Interviews patients to identify the extent and effects of chemical dependency
Provides individual and group counseling and crisis intervention
Participates in team discussions regarding treatment plans
Confers with staff physician and clinical supervisor about patient progress
Prepares psycho-social assessments and maintains confidential records
Utilizes resources from public and private agencies for patient needs
Confers with other departments to resolve problems
Participates in training programs for professional growth
Maintains ethical and professional standards
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five years paid experience under licensed supervision
If in chemical dependency recovery, a minimum of three years continuous sobriety is required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Alcohol/Other Drug Counselor - Clinical Supervisor Certification (California) OR Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor Certificate (California) OR Licensed Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (California)
