Job Details:
• Work on a 32-bed surgical unit exclusively focused on medical-surgical care
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Must have surgical experience and experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal and general surgery
• RN patient ratios: 4:1 on day shifts and 5:1 on night shifts
• LNA ratios: 1:7-11 (unit shares with PCU)
• Expected to float to other units as needed
• On-call responsibilities required
• Must have experience with chest tubes, various tubes and drains for post-surgical patients
• Required experience with drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone
• Must be comfortable with trachs/laryngectomies and telemetry monitoring
• Experience required with complex wound care
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required
• Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis cases
