Travel Nursing Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (Cardiac Stepdown)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN job

• End Date: March 7, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Scrub Color: Any professional color
• Parking: Free in designated areas

Estimated Weekly Salary

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910 - $2040

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care/PCU nursing experience or 2 years of Med/Surg experience with PCU exposure
• At least two (2) previous 13-week travel nurse assignments completed
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AACCN and CCRN preferred)
• Experience with trauma, neuro (stroke patients, neuro checks), and cardiac patient care
• Proficient in cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem), insulin drips, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Comfortable managing high acuity patient ratios (RN: 1:3-4)
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac, neuro, trauma, and medical/surgical patients in a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit
• Monitor and manage patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFIB with RVR, post-cardiac cath, post-ablation, and post-TAVR
• Perform and document Q2H neuro checks, manage stroke patients, and care for stable craniotomies
• Administer and titrate cardiac and insulin drips, interpret cardiac rhythms, and manage temporary pacemakers and post-procedure care
• Care for patients with respiratory illnesses, trachs/vents, chest tubes, wound vacs, and post-op general surgery needs
• Float to ED, ICU, or CCU as needed for intermediate assignments
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalists, and trauma surgery
• Participate in general hospital and unit-specific orientation
