Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to support a team dedicated to improving animal welfare through high-quality veterinary care in underserved communities. Lead and mentor fellow veterinarians while providing compassionate care and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Participate in veterinary medicine rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
