Job Description
We are seeking a professional Nursing care provider who is knowledgeable about the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards. You will utilize the nursing process through patient assessment, developing plans of care, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. This position requires scheduled on-call assignments as needed to accommodate the fluctuating patient volumes in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Triage every patient entering the emergency care system, determining care priorities based on physical and psycho-social needs.
- Conduct hourly rounding in the department and half-hour rounding in the waiting room if patients are waiting.
- Document in-depth nursing histories, including chief complaints and healthcare status.
- Develop and implement a continuously updated plan of care that meets patient and family needs.
- Ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment for emergency patient care are in order and available.
- Recognize changes in patient health status, directing care to ensure patient safety.
- Document patient responses to interventions accurately.
- Provide health education to patients and families, including discharge instructions and treatment information.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
- Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, renewed every two years.
- Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, renewed every two years.
- Healthcare Provider Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, renewed every two years.
- Valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
