Stepdown Registered Nurse – Travel Position

Pay: $2,174.40/week
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Stepdown Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Bismarck, ND. This role is based in a 32-bed progressive care unit, where the nurse will provide care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions, often transitioning from intensive care to a lower acuity setting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled in managing patients with complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring stepdown or progressive care monitoring.
Assess, monitor, and document patient status, including cardiac monitoring and telemetry.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Float to other units as assigned to support hospital staffing needs.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Nurse license in North Dakota (or compact license).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry nursing experience.
Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to manage a diverse caseload in a 32-bed progressive care unit.
