Key Responsibilities
Receives, sorts, cleans, and decontaminates reusable instruments and equipment
Operates cleaning and decontamination machinery
Inspects, assembles, and sterilizes surgical instruments and materials
May lead department operations in the absence of the SPD Manager
Maintains up-to-date knowledge on medical instrument processing
Assists with staff training and competency testing
Communicates and collaborates with department staff and OR personnel
Troubleshoots daily operational problems
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of three years of experience in Sterile Processing
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
Certified Endoscopy Reprocessor (CER) certification (must obtain within one year)
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)
