Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in an ICU float pool setting across various units including neuro, respiratory failure, cardiology, and transplant.
- Float to overflow units such as MS, Tele, PCU, PACU, Stepdown, and high-acuity transplant units as needed.
- Administer medications, manage vents, perform IV starts, and monitor ICP and hemodynamics.
- Utilize critical skills such as telemetry, conscious sedation, and PA line management, adhering to established protocols.
- Ensure patient safety and compliance with all hospital standards during float assignments.
- Pass initial EKG exam and maintain required certifications through duration of contract.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, including PA line experience.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH.
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam on first day of orientation.
- Experience with vents, IV starts, ICP monitoring, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
- Must be open to first-time travel assignments with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ICU experience at large hospitals, especially transplant centers.
- CCRN certification.
- Exposure to Level I trauma or charge nurse responsibilities.
- Experience with high-acuity and transplant patient populations.
$2243 includes taxable hourly rate plus meals and lodging stipend.
