Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will lead a dedicated team in providing compassionate veterinary care to underserved communities. You will oversee high-quality medical practices while nurturing the professional growth of your team, making a significant impact on animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture and foster teamwork
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and deliver coaching
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide preventive and basic care to patients

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years of veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification (within 60 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
