Job Title: MS/Tele RN - Night Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MS/Tele RN for Night Shift, working a 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30). This position encompasses a total of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required and holidays as scheduled. Candidates with 2 years of experience are preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical/telemetry unit.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and manage cardiac drips and telemetry.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for care planning and management.
- Float within specialty and lower acuity areas as needed based on unit census.
Qualifications
- Active MD or Compact License required at the time of submission.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS.
- Previous charge experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Epic charting system is desirable.
- Comfortable with a patient ratio of 5:1.
- Ability to float as needed; flexibility is a must.
Unit Details
This unit consists of 47 beds, providing care primarily to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census includes patients with dysrhythmias, strokes, and other medical comorbidities. The unit offers interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
Compliance and Compliance Documents
- All compliance documents must be submitted 5 days prior to start date.
- CPI certification is required; “The Calm Every Storm” online version is the only accepted method.
- Travelers must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing the contract.
Additional Information
- Return travelers must have been away for at least 6 months; former staff must be absent for 12 months before reapplying.
- Extensions typically allowed for one contract; 6-month break required to return to the unit.
- All candidates must provide 2 satisfactory professional references.
