The Director of Nursing of Hazelwood and Bingham Gardens ICF will play a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory standards. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Must possess Bachelor degree in Nursing and a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or a state Nursing Board in the “Compact State Agreement”.
~5+ years of managerial experience in the medical field.
Master’s Degree in related field
Experience working with IDD / Mental health population.
This is a full-time position, days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. Occasional flex hours, evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Provides direct supervision and management, under the supervision of the Facility Director, to the Nursing Department.
Oversees the construction and utilization of nursing staff at multiple facilities.
Directs, oversees and evaluates all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.).
Conducts direct observations on first and second shift at least once monthly and third shift at least quarterly.
Updates and defines job duties of all nursing personnel including Charge Nurse, RN, LPN etc.
Sets objectives and long-term goals for the Nursing Department.
Constructs and oversees programs for continuing education, training, and certifications for all nursing staff.
Works to ensure optimal resident care across shifts.
Develops policies, practices, processes, and forms for the Nursing Department, adhering to regulations required for ICF/IID facilities.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel and assures enough staff are hired.
Oversees and supervises development and delivery of in-service education to equip nursing staff with sufficient knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, quality care and respect for resident rights.
Participates in daily or weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns.
Serves on various committees to aid in quality improvement for the facility.
Software Skills – Regular use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); basic alphanumeric data entry ability needed
Meets all applicable state contract obligations.
Learns and follows all relevant policies and procedures.
This position supervises the Nursing Department.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Travel
This position requires up to 25% travel.
