Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and play a key role in enhancing patient care through efficient office functions. You'll engage directly with patients, ensuring a seamless experience as you manage registrations, appointments, and financial transactions while contributing to health equity in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Greet patients and check them in and out
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and handle cash policies
  • Schedule appointments and verify visit types
  • Manage waiting room cleanliness and communication
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Medical office setting experience
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Independent means of transportation during work hours
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
