*JOB DUTIES: * * Review and process prior authorization requests for medical procedures and treatments. * Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility through effective communication with insurance companies. * Utilize coding knowledge to accurately complete authorization requests. * Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information. * Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation for authorization submissions. * Follow up on outstanding authorizations to ensure timely approvals and communicate outcomes to patients and providers. * Maintain organized medical records and documentation related to prior authorizations. * Stay updated on managed care policies and changes in insurance requirements.
*Qualifications* * Proven experience in a healthcare setting * Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, and insurance verification processes. * Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality. * Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, providers, and insurance representatives. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
