Job Description
Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic, where you will perform critical inspections and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment. Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and initiate necessary repairs
Assist with emergency breakdowns when on call
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
Ability to speak and read English well
Meet physical and safety requirements of the position
Provide own tools
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic
Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems
Familiarity with diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, CAT, Peterbilt, and Paccar
Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
