Job Description
Join Beacon Brook Center as an MDS Director (RN) and play a vital role in managing MDS assessments to develop personalized care plans and ensure compliance with regulations. This is a meaningful opportunity to impact residents' lives while growing your career in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the MDS program ensuring compliance and accuracy
Determine Patient Driven Payment Method (PDPM) and associated expenses
Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores for reimbursement risks
Train and mentor MDS Coordinators
Coordinate comprehensive resident assessments and care planning
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for accurate data collection
Provide education to facility staff and leaders
Analyze assessment data for compliance and reimbursement optimization
Drive continuous improvement in nursing care
Required Qualifications
Valid state RN license preferred
Direct care in a long-term care setting and/or MDS Coordinator experience required
Proficient in state and federal regulations governing the MDS and billing process
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid and Medicare requirements
Deadline driven with strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree or certification preferred
Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and chronically ill
