Position Overview

The Data Conversion Analyst supports OCHIN's mission by helping our new members extract data from their previous EHR and ancillary healthcare IT systems, transform the data into new formats, and then import the data into OCHIN's Epic system. In addition to performing this technical work, the Data Conversion Specialist also uses their interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to work with various internal and external stakeholders and to drive each project toward completion.


Essential Duties

  • Participate in shaping and growing OCHIN's nascent Data Conversion product line
  • Analyzing healthcare data in HL7, CDA, CSV, and SQL formats for extraction, transformation, and import.
  • Facilitate meetings with multiple internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, identify data conversion needs, provide ongoing updates, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in informal internal training as part of ongoing team improvement.
  • Develop and update technical and business process documentation for data conversions (internal and customer-facing)
  • Pursue relevant Epic proficiencies/certification where determined by OCHIN's business needs.
  • Work and manage JIRA tickets
  • Basic Data Conversion Troubleshooting
  • Work under Tier 2 or Tier 3 Analysts to provide quality assurance on basic data conversion work.
  • Work under Tier 2 or Tier 3 Analysts to preform basic data conversions
  • Identifies gaps in current process and escalates opportunities to close gaps for stronger onboarding
  • Pursue relevant Epic Data Conversion proficiencies/certification determined by OCHIN's business needs to grow as a Data Conversion Analyst.
  • Performed other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field requirement. Equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience may meet this requirement
  • Troubleshooting and documenting skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • 0-1 year of experience desired
  • Experience with basic computer programming
  • Experience with MS SQL is required
  • Experience with or knowledge of the following is highly desired:

* Arduina

* JavaScript

* Python

  • Able to learn in a self-directed, fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to establish goals, set priorities, and multi-task
  • Highly driven, customer focused, with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • DBA Skills are a plus


COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint (Min- $25.36 Mid-$31.70 per hour), with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Min- $25.36 Mid-$31.70 Max-$38.04
