Key Responsibilities
Provides basic nursing care and assists in resident assessment
Communicates significant changes in condition to the interdisciplinary team
Documents assessments and interventions accurately and timely
Participates in care planning and updates care plans as needed
Administers medications and treatments safely and timely
Monitors resident care and identifies problem areas
Maintains composure during crisis situations
Completes required continuing education related to nursing
Required Qualifications
Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
Current LPN license in the state of employment
CPR and AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months
IV certification required, or willing to obtain within six months
Ability to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
Excellent communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to stand and walk for long periods
Ability to lift heavy objects using proper techniques
Ability to transfer and move patients weighing 200+lbs
Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs
Manual dexterity and coordination
Visual acuity to distinguish color
Ability to perform documentation electronically and in writing
